Rupali Monga's motivation for leaving her job as assistant vice president in the Global Wealth & Investment Management Branch Examinations Department at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch in New York to study at Simon was twofold: she wanted to join an MBA program that would help her hone her analytical and leadership skills, as well as provide her with a framework to identify, interpret, and solve real-life complex business problems.

"I believe Simon has a fantastic MBA program, as a majority of the course work mimics real-world, day-to-day business issues, which can be very challenging, but very beneficial to help successful leaders strive in their future career paths," the Queens, NY native says. "Further, my interactions with Simon alumni were a major factor in my decision to attend Simon – their success within their careers affirmed that the Simon Business School is successful in establishing powerful leaders."

Rupali, who served as chief marketing officer of the Simon Healthcare and Sciences Association and was a member of Simon National Black MBA Association, was impressed by the close-knit community at Simon, which afforded many opportunities to network and develop long-lasting professional and personal relationships with classmates and faculty.

"I believe one of the most important aspects of an MBA program is the networking opportunities available to students and Simon goes above and beyond to ensure that students can develop those relationships," she says.

One of Simon's strongest qualities, Rupali feels, is its helping students understand the importance of diversity and teamwork in today's changing business environment. "Collaboration is extremely important in any organization and the Simon education is specifically tailored to train its students to work and study as they would in a business setting," she says. "I love that that the Simon curriculum is heavily quantitative in nature and in such a competitive job market, having a solid logical and analytical framework is absolutely necessary."
